Riva — Brazilian Luxury Design. Steel, Silver, and Gold Elevated to the Level of Art.

Riva

Founded in 1988 in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, by Rubens Simões — an industrial designer from Rio de Janeiro inspired by the principle of "less is more" — Riva set out to prove that utilitarian objects could carry the same expressive weight as fine art. What began as a handcrafted silver cutlery holder intended as a gift for the founder's mother became the founding gesture of a brand that would go on to redefine the language of luxury tableware in Brazil and across forty countries. Working exclusively in 18/10 stainless steel, sterling silver, and 24-karat gold finishes, Riva produces a rigorously curated collection of table objects — platters, cutlery, ice vessels, bar accessories, caviar services, and decorative pieces — each designed in partnership with emerging and established Brazilian and international talents, including recipients of the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and recognition at the Brazilian Design Biennial. Every piece is hand-polished at the brand's atelier using a proprietary wool-buffing technique that produces an incomparable metallic brilliance, and the factory holds German WRC recycling certification for its full production cycle. At Pastry Chef's Boutique, Riva brings the singular refinement of Brazilian luxury design to the American fine dining and luxury hospitality market — a counterpoint to European convention, and a statement of how far South American design has traveled.
